The members of the PRBB community enjoy being located in one of the best places to carry out biomedical research in Europe. They are young, very competitive and from all over the world.
Consolidation of support staff to allow excellence in research
Of the 1,452 people at the research centres of the park there are 747 researchers: 273 PhDs, 290 Postdocs and 184 principal investigators (IPs). The support staff is grouped into 462 technicians and 243 people from administration. Gender balance in science is improving
60% of the residents at the PRBB are female. The percentage of female scientists heading up research groups has risen from 31% in 2013 to 41% in 2020. The PRBB community is getting older
Almost half of the PRBB residents are younger than 36 years old (46%). In 2011 this percentage was exceptionally high with 60% younger than 36 years. A multicultural community
The 377 foreign residents (26%) come from 52 different countries, with the Italians taking first place (90), followed by the Germans (43), and the French (23). The UK, with 19 residents, takes the fourth place in the country rankings. |
